This includes working closely with the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) to bring essential support and knowledge to Barry County farms. The Ionia MAEAP Tech is a resource for Barry County farmers, crop growers, and livestock producers. They provide guidance on soil health, water quality management, watershed protection, wildlife habitat enhancement, and more. And all information is kept in strictest confidence.

We're also building collaborations to ensure that Barry County farms thrive while in good stewardship of our land and water. This includes the development of programs, services, targeted educational programs and outreach to raise awareness about the health benefits of sustainable agriculture and explore opportunities for collaborative projects promoting soil conservation and providing vital resources to farmers.
